Sarah is an inveterate horsewoman, and loves nothing more than translating her relationship with horses onto the canvas and into the sculpture studio. Her knowledge of equines is deep, and thus her paintings are genuine and full of horsey integrity, both in confirmation and composition. It is in her papier maches, however, where her combined equestrian and artistic personalities truly hit the mark. These 3D figures are intelligent and comical. She captures those briefest of moments when human and horse, in what is their usually harmonious dance together, perform the slightest of mis-steps or mis-calculations, and the result is pure visual wit. With loving irreverence, she brings her sense of humor to her art--the characters are whimsical and clownish in a light-hearted manner. She makes us laugh at ourselves, and that's a wonderful thing!
Sarah has been in several shows over the past few years, including;
